New Companions in the Evolution Test

The Evolution Test introduces three companions who join the traveler's party from Iia in the Reality Plane: Nanafey, Bai Mei, and Olympia. HoYoverse positions them as central figures venturing into the unknown alongside the player, following traces of forgotten histories tied to the Sundering that shattered Nexus bonds across the Planes.

Nanafey — The Wonder Girl Next Door

Nanafey is a student and class representative at Montemar Academy in Iia (also referenced as Ilia in some official materials). She loves Anima despite scoring B in Nexus Battle Basics on her latest report card—her passion outweighs textbook performance. Beebee is her signature Anima companion featured prominently in character marketing.

Nanafey's goal is traveling to other Planes and chronicling her journey, aligning with the player's plane-hopping narrative. She provides forgiving sustain-oriented Animaster passives suited for learning players making formation mistakes. Pair Nanafey with Protector-heavy teams documented in Animaster team compositions and early combat tips in how to beat early Nexus Battles.

Bai Mei

Bai Mei connects to hidden truths surrounding the Sundering—the catastrophe that severed paired Aspect bonds and scattered remnant power as Anima across the world. Official press materials describe her as a key figure tied to lore the traveler uncovers while escaping captivity and exploring Iia.

Expect Bai Mei quests to gate Reality Plane story chapters requiring both exploration objectives and Nexus Battle clears. Monitor dialogue for faction hints linking to Animaster categories: Sovereigns, Novarchs, and Others described in HoYoverse lore posts about pre- and post-Sundering power structures.

Olympia

Olympia rounds out the trio introduced during Evolution Test recruitment marketing. She ventures deeper into uncharted realms with the traveler and fellow companions, representing the expanded narrative scope beyond what the Nexus Bond Test demonstrated.

Olympia's exact Animaster specialty remains partially undocumented during beta, but trio composition suggests complementary Aspect coverage rather than redundant passives. Experiment with Olympia-led teams in the deck builder once her unlock quest completes.
